Kristen MJ Grau, CPA, CVA
Founder & CEO
Kristen MJ Grau, CPA, CVA is the founder and CEO of The Clover Group. The Clover Group began as a way for Kristen to pursue her ultimate passion — partnering with small business owners to simply the accounting/financial elements and allow them to focus on their passion. As an active CPA in the state of Oregon, Kristen understands the accounting and tax impact to ensure the accounting is completed accurately, As the founder, Kristen works proactively with her clients, their financial professionals (CPAs, attorneys, etc.), and her team to ensure that clients have a clear picture of their financials in a timely fashion to eliminate errors and plan in advance to avoid surprises in the future. Kristen also serves as the CFO and Valuations Director for Succession Resource Group – the leading succession consulting firm for financial advisors.
Prior to starting The Clover Group, Kristen served in a variety of different accounting roles for many different types of clients. She began her accounting career in the private sector, working at a privately-held manufacturing company, handling everything from billing, receivables, and internal financial reporting, before moving to public accounting, where she spent over six years providing tax and accounting services. Kristen’s industry focus is small to mid-sized businesses, pass-through entities, professional service entities, and individuals.
Kristen was born and raised in Oregon and like most other natives, loves the outdoors and relishes an opportunity to spend time in the sun. During her time away from the firm, Kristen enjoys traveling, spending time with her husband and their three kids, and their friends.
Johnathan Sinclair is a staff accountant at The Clover Group, joining the company in 2017. Johnathan is the “go to guy” for getting stuff done and handles monthly reconciliations, ongoing client requests, and generating reports. Prior to joining The Clover Group, Johnathan worked for one of Oregon’s largest building supply companies. He also served in Army for five years, including three tours of duty overseas in the Middle East, receiving multiple accommodations, and awards. Johnathan attended LA Mission College, where he received an Associates Degree. He is a Certified ProAdvisor for QuickBooks and a Xero Advisor.
Johnathan and his wife Nicole reside in Tigard with their son Mason and daughter Araya. In his free time, Johnathan enjoys golfing with friends, playing football, and enjoys spending time with his family. He also takes part in numerous races and walks every year supporting causes he cares about, such as the Ronald McDonald House.
